Sword Art Online: Elucidator Sheath Progress. by loveshina Sword Art Online: Elucidator Sheath Progress. by loveshina
Finally got some good work done on the sheath, been really busy lately. Now I can complete the finish on the sword and shape the sheath. Soon I should have some work on the rest of the costume!
I lined the inside with black cotton fleece type material to protect the finish, it has a really nice fit.

Basically it started square, and I beveled each edge by hand, making it an octagon, then did that once more into 16, then just sanded it smooth into a circle.

I have never made any sword like this, but I swear I'm interested. I want to try it but I don't know anything about this. The techniques and everything ._.
I need someone to teach me because my family isn't the type of making things from wood. As for the tools I think my grandma's brother has it. Teach meee~ LOL

-sorry for my bad english :)

Its just like sculpting anything else really, I just plan ahead and give myself guides for what to take away.

Of what exactly? The sheath, cuz it's not truly show accurate. Either way, the thickness of the sheath is 3/4 inch on the inside and the side pieces are 1/4 inch thick. I kind of just made it to fit my sword, as I had to allow for the cloth and cross piece on the end.
