Greatsword of Artorias WIP by loveshina Greatsword of Artorias WIP by loveshina
Started work on the Greatsword this week. Going smoothly so far. The only thing I've done differently here is that I used a steel rod as support in the handle, the wood alone wouldn't support something of this size. It's scaled to match my height at 5'6", and so far is made of poplar with a steel rod and a couple pvc pipes (along with a bit of apoxie sculpt.) Next job will be to start shaping the details on the hilt.

I normally do business of a commission basis, and am actually working on one of these for someone else, and it would work for me to do another along side it. If you are interested, send me a note and I can tell you the details.

NIce one! You'll use brass or some DAS tomake the engravings on the blade? Or you'll paint it black and called it "cursed"?

Honestly not sure right now. My original plan was to do a "restored" Artorias, in all of his splendor. This partly hinged on completing the shield, but that wont happen for A-kon, too pressed for time. Also, I love how the finish on the helmet came out, so I may do corrupted. (Plus the corrupted Artorias has more opportunities for the "play" part of cosplay, a bit more act-y than the other one might be, something I feel I want to improve on).

but corrupted and cursed are two different weapons. If you want to give it a shiny effect you can glue a sheet of cobalt-colored plastic, paint or even better, dig a bit in the wood and fill it with cobalt resin, then flatten it

I know how to get paint really shiny, and my tests with metallic finishes have taught me alot. But the two versions I was thinking was the corrupted(Abyss version) or the Normal (non cursed) verion. abyss sword would go with more tarnished armor, while the other I'd make the armor more shiny and brighter cloth.

/nods sorry man ^^ By corrupted you mean the palette swap of the holy, or the one Artorias uses when you fight him? The one with the broken guard

The one he uses when you fight him. The one he uses is the abyss variant. That's one of the two I had planned
